It's almost term time again, only one week left now.

I thought I'd be more upset than I am but I've actually been feeling rather tranquil. Perhaps I am getting better at putting things in proportion.

I'd had the idea that I was going to finish the final pre-beta draft of Velveteen before studies resumed but that, it turns out, was pure fantasy. Ah well, at least I have made broad progress on my projects over the summer.

There is always something so blessing in the first crisp notes of autumn, when it turns just cold enough to make snuggling up indoors cozy. This year it's been a very abrupt shift, it's like the season is trying to get its homework in before the equinox deadline. Last Thursday it was so warm I was able to walk back from the pub at 10pm without even a jacket on.

Speaking of, who did we by chance encounter at the pub boardgame night? None other than a Dearly Beloved of eons past who happened to skate by on just the same night in just the same pub. I'd known he was coming back to the city but I hadn't realised he was already in the area, and to pick that pub of all places?

The world is so full of serendipity.
